CRN 11966  *  Monday, August 18th – Monday, December 15th

A complete syllabus with all class policies and a schedule of activities is available for you online within our CE6 Course as well as at my website: http://staffwww.fullcoll.edu/clee

Instructor: Ms. Callista Lee, M.S.

Students who add the class at our orientation meeting will be granted access within 12-48 hours after completing Webstar registration and making full payment. So get online tonight and register so that you can get into our course as soon as possible!

Where and when does our class meet?

Ø      Several times every week you’ll log-in to our course in the CE6 system on the FC Campus Server through the Distance Education Website: http://online.fullcoll.edu/

Ø      Every Monday you’ll have a participation report due.

Ø      You decide the specific times and days of the week to “show up” for class. Keep in mind that you are responsible for knowing what assignments you are to be working on, how to turn them in and when to turn them in. All of that information is posted clearly within our Course in CE6.

How do I log in to CE6?
You will be using your FC Net Account ID and password to log-in (the same user ID and password you use for your campus email). Log-in using the link at the FC Distance Education website http://online.fullcoll.edu

How do I contact my instructor?

Contact Ms. Lee any time via your CE6 email or the Main Discussion Board within our CE6 class. I log-in and check for messages within our online class at least 4 days every week, Monday - Sunday.

If you must reach me regarding an emergency when you are unable to log in to CE6 you may leave a voicemail at (714) 992-7530 or email at clee@fullcoll.edu.

My office is located in the new building, room 1422-D.

What if I have technical problems?

Seek help with log-in problems or other technical issues from FC’s Distance Education Department http://online.fullcoll.edu/ Read and follow their “Help” instructions. Staff is there to assist you on a limited basis, Mon-Fri, in cases when following the instructions at their website has not solved your problem. You should also familiarize yourself with their FAQs link and their Tutorials for using CE6 Student Tools. You can also click on the “Help” button when you are logged in to CE6.

Coming to Class Online

ü      Before attempting to log-in for the first time

Update your FC Net Account password.

For help, Contact the help desk at 714-992-7711 or email helpdesk@fullcoll.edu

Review FC’s Distance Learning site http://online.fullcoll.edu

Carefully read the instructions for details regarding your user name and password and how to log-in to CE6, computer hardware and software requirements, internet browsers, browser settings, and using CE6 tools.

You will need to know how to use CE6 Discussion Boards, Assessments (Quizzes), Assignments, and CE6 email. Take time to view the Tutorials about how to use these Student Tools.

ü      When you log-in to CE6 for the first time

Be sure that you click on “Check Browser” and follow any recommendations that show up regarding your Internet Browser. If you get all green check marks, you are good to go. Follow instructions to fix problems indicated by any red x’s that appear.

When you are on the “My Courses” page, click on “My Settings” and then “Edit Profile” if your home email address is either missing or incorrect. This will allow you to get copies of emails from me at your home address so that you’ll know if I am trying to reach you regarding an urgent matter or simply answering a question that you asked me in CE6 email.

ü      There is never a reason for you to be doing nothing. You can always be reading the assigned chapters. You should keep a printed copy of the Schedule of Activities from your syllabus handy.

ü      If you have a computer breakdown at home you can use the FC Computer Labs if their open hours coincide with your availability and needs. Check their schedule now: http://fcnet.fullcoll.edu/hours.htm A computer break-down is like a car break-down; you still need to figure out a way to get to class.

ü      You will need MS PowerPoint or a PowerPoint player – a free PowerPoint player download is available at the FC Distance Learning website under “Plugins.” http://online.fullcoll.edu

ü      You will also need “QuickTime” – also a free download. Most of you have this software already installed on your computer.

ü      You will need a full version word processor such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect for three (3) of your homework assignments. Plan ahead to have access to a computer where you can accomplish this requirement.

ü      Instructors have the right to drop students who consistently miss class (see your FC Catalog for your rights and responsibilities). I will drop students who do not complete the required Orientation Activities by the due date of Monday, 8/25 (unless I have already agreed to allow you some extra time). If you do decide to withdraw from the class, please let me know, but most importantly, be sure to properly advise Admissions & Records before their deadline. Dropping a class is ultimately the student’s responsibility.

ü      Look carefully at your own personal schedule to make sure that you have about 9+ hours each week to put into this course (for reading, homework projects, discussions, and exams). Use a calendar to keep track of due dates.

ü      Contact the FC Disabled Students Center if you believe you have a verifiable learning disability that may qualify you for adaptive computer services or extra time on exams.
