Study Abroad in Rome, Italy -- Spring 2013
Ms. Lee will be joining faculty member Mary Forman from Cypress College to offer Psychology and English courses from our base in Rome, Italy during Spring semester 2013. In addition to visiting Rome, there will be class excursions to other sites in Italy. Further details will be posted here as they become available. Applications and additional official information about the program is available at the Study Abroad website. Financial Aid is available to qualified students.
The program takes local students to another country, where we rent classroom space to teach our regular Fullerton College courses. Housing, some meals, and transportation is included in the program. For all that you get the program cost is very reasonable.
Every student must take four of the following classes: Psy 131 (Cross Cultural Psychology), Psy 120 (Human Sexuality), Psy 219 (Intro. Human Services), Eng 104 (Critical Thinking & Writing about Literature), Eng 206 (Film - 1950 to present), and Eng 243 (Folklore & Mythology). In addition to four of the above courses, all students will take a 1-unit Interdisciplinary Studies course focusing on travel planning, challenges and safety. A non-credit, two-hour Italian conversation class will be offered by a local instructor in Rome at no additional charge.
A program like ours is the easiest way for students who have never been out of the country on their own to experience Study Abroad. All courses are taught in English by your American instructors from North Orange County. There is no requirement to speak Italian, although you'll find it fun and helpful to at least learn some key phrases for travelers.
Say "Si!" to what could well turn out to be one of the most exciting and growth promoting opportunities in your life. :-)
