I currently serve as Professor of Mathematics at Fullerton College, where Iíve taught since 1992.Last year I held Visiiting Professorships in Mathematiics at CSU Fullerton and UCI.I served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at UC Riverside from 2005-8, and I was an NSF VIGRE Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematics from 2001-4 at Indiana University Bloomington, after serving as Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at CSU San Marcos during 2000-1.With Dr. Bill Cowieson, I co-advise the Math Club, and I am the organizer of our weekly Math Colloquium.I am also the organizer of the Pacific Summer Unsolved Mathematics Seminar (PSUMS).Both of these programs provide opportunities for community college/lower division university students (and former such students) to become involved in making new scientific discoveries related to mathematics and its applications.Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in these events. In regular semesters and in summer, students can earn transferable credit for taking Math 290F Pure Mathematics Seminar, Math 290HF Honors Pure Math Seminar, Math 291F Applied Math Seminar, Math 291HF Honors Applied Math Seminar, Math 295F Math Seminar, or Math 295HF Honors Math Seminar, in which we examine several open problems in math and its applications.I also help co-organize, with Abraham Romero-Hernandez and Paul Sjoberg, the FC AMATYC Student Math League Competition.I also supervise our William Lowell Putnam Competition Team, one of only four community college Putnam teams in the nation.Since last year I have served on the NOCCCD United Faculty Board of Directors, and I am also the Mathematics Enrichment Project Manager for ENGAGE in STEM FC.This year, I am continuing to serve on the Tenure Track Mathematics Faculty Hiring Committee and the Math Lab Committee.
