Class Overview
CRN 10698 - Web Page Design II - Online
This class teaches the fundamentals of web page design using the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). This is the language used by web page creation programs like DreamWeaver and Expressions. Students will be expected to create and post several web pages.
Students will use the CE6 online web site to get and post their assignments.
What you will Learn
After completing this class you should:
- Be able to discuss some general principles about how the Internet and web sites work.
- Post your work to your own web site (supplied by the college).
- Create basic web page using HTML
- Create a web page that includes links, graphics, and lists
- Format a web page that includes links, graphics, and lists
- Create and format a web page that includes tables.
- Create and format a web page that includes form elements
- Discuss what Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are and how the work.
- Use CSS to format web pages.

Students must have access to the Internet in order to log into and use the online components of this class. On-campus computers are available for student use.
Grading and Evaluations
Grades will be computed based on ten web assignments an on an in-class Final Exam. Student must physically attend one of the final exam dates to complete their final.
Students will complete the following assignments and exams to get a grade in this class:
- 10 Web Assignments which will be due during the course of the semester
- A short-answer final exam which must be done on campus
The point values for these assignments are:
- HTML Assignments (10 points each for a total of 100 points)
- Final exam - 100 points
The total points for this class are 200 points. The grading is:
180 - 200 = A
160 - 179 = B
140 - 159 = C
120 - 139 = D
0 -119 = F
