MSDNAA Software Packages

The following software package are available to students taking a CIS class. You can access the link for downloading these packages after logging into mygateway - http://mygateway.nocccd.edu. These are full versions and are licensed to the individual downloading the package.

To get one of these packages you will:

  1. Log into MyGateWay with your Student ID Number and password (the same login you use to get to WebStar)
  2. Scroll down under student links until you find MSDNAA Academic Alliance and click this Link.
  3. Click the words "proceed to the site" (this is a link that takes you to the MSDNAA). If you don't see this link then you are not eligible to get MSDNAA software. You must be enrolled in a CIS class.
  4.  Either search for a title or select the software you wish to download from the drop-down list box and click GO.
  5. You see a description of this software along with a picture. Click the Add to Cart button.
  6. Click the I Agree for the licensing agreement. You should see your shopping cart. You can continue to get software.
  7. When you are done click the View Cart button if your shopping cart is not displayed.
  8. Click the Check out button. You will be prompted to enter your first and last name and an email address. Use a valid email address because you will be emailed a confirmation message.
  9. In the Order Details screen you see your software titles listed. Click under the Download link under the Item column for the software you want to download.
  10. For certain software packages you will see a serial number. This must be entered when you install the program (for example, Access 2007 requires a serial number). WRITE DOWN THIS SERIAL NUMBER. You can always return to your login and get the serial number again.
  11. Click the Download button. You will download a small EXE file.
  12. Run the small EXE file just downloaded. This is a download manager program. It will prompt you for the location where you want the file downloaded. It will then download the file to that location (default is C:\Temp).
  13. After download you can start the Install by clicking Launch Install. If you don't want to install the program you can just close this window.

What is downloaded to the Temp folder is an ISO file. This is a disk image that can be burned to a blank CD. You can download a portable CD/DVD burning program from my site at: general resources
