       CIS 111  Intro to Information Systems we will use MS Office 2016

This course is an introduction to information systems, including computer hardware and software, the Internet, Microsoft Office 2016.

       CIS 205  Spreadsheet (Adv MS Excel) we will use Excel 2016

This course teaches advanced concepts with Microsoft Excel. Students gain the advanced skills to use MS Excel in the workplace as an analysis and database tool, above and beyond the average skill level of most users. Advisory: Ability to create and edit a spreadsheet.

       CIS 226  Java Programming I

This course introduces students to the Java programming language. Students learn the language syntax, how to design and debug programs, and how to use Java programs with HTML pages.

CIS 228 Java Programming II

This course covers advanced Java programming. Topics include using Java to create database programs, integrate with COBRA based software, and create Java Server pages and other network related topics. Students must be familiar with Microsoft Windows and the Java programming language. Advisory: CIS 226 F and CIS 107 F with a grade of "C" or better.

CIS 242 Database II we will use Access 2016

This course teaches advanced topics in personal databases using state-of-the-art database software. Students will learn how to design and implement complex databases, how to create complex queries and how to use Structured Query Language, how to create personal databases with other applications, and how to write database macro programs. Other topics include the theory of database design, interfacing personal databases with external databases, and creating internet personal databases. Students in this course should have fundamental skills in using a personal database.
