ATB TESTING

   In order to receive Financial Aid, students are required to have obtained either a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED).  However, if a student does NOT have either a high school diploma or a GED, the student has the opportunity to take an Ability to Benefit Test (ATB), and receive Financial Aid, if otherwise eligible.  The ATB measures a candidate's basic verbal and math skills.  Listed below is a some history on the ATB test:

Appointments for this test may only be made by phone or in person. You will need a government issued picture ID to be admitted into the test. You will NOT be allowed to enter the test after the start time. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.

PLEASE CALL 714-732-5533 TO MAKE AN APPT. FOR ATB TEST. ALL ATB TEST START AT 8:30am and only for Fullerton College students.  ATB test cannot be broken in sections and must be taken in one sitting. Students may not leave and come back to finish the ATB test.

 


 ATB TEST:

To be eligible for ATB status, a student must achieve a passing scores on each  subtest ( Writing, Reading and Math )in a single testing session. If a student does not achieve a passing score on a single test session, the student must retake the complete  test in a new testing session. The  ATB test is not timed and students are given calculators during the math portion of the test. The average time is 2.5 hours to complete the test.

ESL ATB TEST for ESL students:

The  ESL ATB test is composed of three sections Listening, Reading and Grammar/Usage. The average time for the test is 2 hours. Students must pass all three sections in one sitting to pass the test .
