Math Assessment The Mathematics section of the Compass test is adaptive. The test responds to feedback it receives from the student and finds the appropriate level of math for the student. If a student answers questions correctly they are given more difficult items. If the students begins to answer questions incorrectly, the computer will generate less difficult items until the appropriate level is reached. The range of skills measured by the Mathematics section of Compass ranges from pre-algebra through college algebra. Following is a breakdown of the kinds of mathematics items assessed by Compass.

When you eventually take the assessment, it is important that you take it seriously and are adequately prepared, and do the very best that you can.
