Accounting 101A - Online - Summer 2008

CRN 30894 Section OL1 - Financial Accounting - Online This is a beginning accounting course which meets all transfer requirements to four-year colleges and universities and provides a foundation for advanced work in vocational accounting or other branches of business administration. Text used is Accounting Concepts & Applications, 10th edition, Albrecht, Stice, Stice, Swain - South-Western Publishing Company 2008.
Prerequisite: None

WARNING - Traditionally this is a 4 unit, 85 hours lecture per semester.

On-line, it will require a minimum of 24–36 hours per week in the summer 7 week session. If you have a choice, you should take this class live. This is a tough, time consuming, class under the best of situations. You need to be self-disciplined to keep up with the course, computer knowledgeable and flexible enough to deal with all of the various electronic media and willing to meet with the instructor during limited office hours during the summer as needed.

QuickBooks Accounting 107 - Online Spring 2008

Section 20608 Section OL1, 2 credit units
Computerized Accounting with QuickBooks Pro
A hands-on course that introduces students to accounting application software. Students will learn how to use QuickBooks software to record sales, purchases and payroll transactions and prepare financial statements and other reports to be utilized in a small business environment. The text used is Computerized Accounting with QuickBooks Pro 2007, Kathleen Villani and James B. Rosa - EMC Paradigm 2008.
Prerequisite: None

YOU MUST HAVE QUICK BOOKS 2005 or higher available at home or at work or you must use our computer labs for this online course. The software does not come with the textbook. See syllabus below for more information.
