CRN Section OL1 - Financial Accounting - Online Fall 2015

This is a beginning accounting course which meets all transfer requirements to four-year colleges and universities and provides a foundation for advanced work in vocational accounting or other branches of business administration.

The text is Accounting Tools for Business Decision Making, 4th edition, Kimmel, Weygandt, Kieso - John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2011(special Fullerton College edition) with accompanying Bb/WileyPlus access. This is all shrunk wrapped together in the bookstore under SKU: 9781118458570 above for $133.75. You also need a calculator, pencil, and one Scantron Form 882-E for the final exam.

Textbook caution: If you choose to only by the etext with the Bb/WileyPlus acces, this eversion can only be purchased thorough our classroom Bb site (for $112.50) and NOT from WileyPlus or other sources. You can wait to make this decision as you will have 14 days full access to WileyPlus and the etext in Blackboard.

Prerequisite: None

WARNING - Traditionally this is a 5 unit, 5.5 hours lecture per week for the 16 week course.

On-line it will require approximately 15 hours per week. If you have a choice, you should take this class live. This is a tough, time consuming, class under the best of situations. You need to be self-disciplined to keep up with the course, computer knowledgeable and flexible enough to deal with all of the various electronic media and willing to meet with the instructor during office hours as needed.

Computerized Accounting 104 - Online Fall 2015

Computerized Accounting with QuickBooks 2015 -
A hands-on course that introduces students to accounting application software. Students will learn how to use QuickBooks software to record sales, purchases and payroll transactions and prepare financial statements and other reports to be utilized in a small business environment. This course is essentially the same as QuickBooks 107 which undergoing change in curriculum. The text used is Computerized Accounting with QuickBooks 2015, Kathleen Villani and James B. Rosa - EMC Paradigm which includes access to QuickBooks software and the company files.

YOU MUST HAVE a PC available to load the Student Trial Version QuickBooks 2015 and Company Files. Both the Company Files and QuickBooks software come with the above listed text at our bookstore for $148 VILLANI / SKU: 9780763865177. Sorry the MAC version or the ONLINE version of QuickBooks will not work for this course. See the syllabus below for more information.

For a few dollars more you have a hard copy of the text, access and an etext. You also need a calculator, pencil, and one Scantron Form 882-E for the final exam.

On-line, it will require approximately 38 hours per week in the summer 7 week session. If you have a choice, you should take this class live. This is a tough, time consuming, class under the best of situations. You need to be self-disciplined to keep up with the course, computer knowledgeable and flexible enough to deal with all of the various electronic media and willing to post questions in the discussion section to get answers to your questions.
