Procedures

Students are expected to log-on to CE6 at least 3 times per week for announcements, to check email and complete assignments.  Based on the Course Schedule below, follow the Assignments for reading and other activities contained in each assignment.  (To prepare for each of 6 unit exams, it is recommended to take the Multiple Choice Practice Quizzes under the Assessments link or go to http://www.mhhe.com/kamien6 and click on the “Student Edition.”)  Each online unit exam is multiple-choice and is offered during a 7-day period.  You must take the exam within the specified dates.  Be sure to stay on top of the deadlines and expiration dates of exams.  Exam dates cannot be extended unless I am notified of a problem via email in advance of the first day of the exam.  There will be NO FINAL EXAM.

Visit the Discussion link for topics in each unit and reply based on what you have learned. Copying other students’ posts in whole or in part is considered plagiarism and will not be tolerated. Students will be required to post twice to each discussion topic.  There are 24 topics in the semester.  You will be expected to post a total of 48 times—first, by creating a response to my initial post, and second, a reply to a classmate’s post.  Always post in a timely manner as topics will be “locked” on the concluding Sunday, the last day of each Unit.  The quality and timeliness of your discussion postings are important to receive full credit for each post. Examples discussion posts are located on the Assignment page.

Communication

It is best to reach me by CE6 (online course) email.  I will check CE6 email and Discussion Forum topics at least 3 times per week.  On the Announcement page, I will post anything important pertaining to the class.  Please be sure to also check your email for other time sensitive information.  Students are responsible for all deadlines and for any questions/problems arising from assignments, deadlines or technical issues.

To send your Concert Report, please attach it as a Word Document to your CE6 email.  Please include “Concert Report” in the subject area of your CE6 email message and your name in the text of the report.  To write your report, see Concert Report Outline on the Assignment page.  An example of a Concert Report is also located here.
