These actions can be done on your office or home computer
WebCT online course facilitators may also access ORCA for additional information.

Two weeks before the semester begins/uploading and restoring courses |

Uploading your course from your desktop, CD or flash drive. Who: all WebCT users |
You will upload your course just as you have it backed up by WebCT. Notice that you will not save your students from the previous semester. |
Access your WebCT course and click on "control panel". Under the heading backup course choose "upload course". Browse to the location of your course (desktop, CD, flash drive) and click on the on the saved file name. Click "upload" and then click restore with the "KEEP USERS" option. |

Backing Up your Course Who: All WebCT Online Course Facilitators |
First you have to create a backup of your course using WebCT controls built into your course control panel

Login to your WebCT coursesite. Click on the "control panel". Click on "manage course" and under Backup Course click on "create backup". |

Downloading the course backup that you created Why: At the end of each semester Distance Learning will remove courses that are not active from the WebCT server. |
As a first step save the course backup that you created to your desktop. Later you can save your backups to a CD or to your Flash drive. If you do not have a Flash drive, ask your dean about providing one through the college. |
Select the radial button on the backup that you wish to download. Click "download" in the options panel. Then select desktop when the windows form "Save As" opens. |
